Moor Rover is a flexible transport service for anyone – resident or visitor – wishing to access Exmoor for walking, cycling, bird watching, fishing, and many other leisure activities.  The bus will pick up and drop off anywhere on Exmoor, and can also transport bicycles, wheelchairs, dogs and luggage.

The Moor Rover has a 16 seat minibus and a 6 seat MPV available.  Both are fully accessible and the drivers are trained in passenger care and wheelchair transport.

The service is open all the year round and every enquiry will be considered.  It runs between 8.00am and 8.00pm and all journeys must be pre-booked at least the day before travel is required.  The booking line is currently open Monday to Friday 9.00am-4.00pm.  There is no booking line on a Saturday or Sunday.

Arrange your pick-up time and place, and drop-off point, with the scheduler, and also arrange your return journey if needed.  We ask that you are in good time to be picked up for an outward journey, and if possible have a mobile phone with you to let the driver know if you will be late at the pick-up point for a return journey.  Drivers will normally only wait 10 minutes unless advised otherwise.

A flat rate single fare is charged as follows –

Adult £6
Child up to age 16 (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult) £2
Group (4 or more) £4 each
Dogs and bicycles £1
Luggage transfer (while you walk) £6
Please note - Concessionary Fares are not applicable on Moor Rover
The Moor Rover bus can also be used to link in with other local transport services. Phone Traveline on 0871 200 2233 for more information on scheduled routes, availability and destinations.

If you would like more details or a leaflet, or would like to book a journey, phone ATWEST on 01643 709701 or email moorrover@aol.com

To launch the Moor Rover service in 2009, Exmoor National Park Authority asked Johnny Kingdom, well-known enthusiast and promoter of Exmoor, to spend some time with Atwest staff and the bus, in order to take some promotional photographs. For more information about how the day was spent, please click HERE.
